Visas: Message from the British Ambassador

One of the essential services the British Embassy provides is assessing visa applications for Moroccans wishing to visit, work in or study in the UK. We receive around 10,000 visa applications a year of which over 85% are issued.  The UK welcomes genuine businessmen, students, family members and tourists.

The new Points Based System for students came into effect on 31March and aims to make the application process more straightforward and efficient. Anyone considering studying in the UK should take the time to read the procedures and requirements carefully on the following link: http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply/infs/inf29pbsstudent

We are keen to receive applications from Moroccan students. Students are an important group of visitors, and the UK values the exchange of knowledge and ideas between our two countries. But please follow the guidance carefully. If you do not provide all the information required, in the correct format, the application will unfortunately be refused.  Make sure that bank details are presented exactly as required and the sponsorship letter from your sponsor university contains all of the mandatory information described in the guidance. If the sponsorship letter is incorrect or insufficient, please go back to the university and ask them to re-issue the letter with the correct information.

Please make sure that all spelling are correct – your name in the letter from your sponsor university and in the bank information must be spelt exactly as it appears on your passport. If there is any error however minor it may seem – your application will be refused.

We believe that the Points Based System will make it easier for genuine students in Morocco to be able to learn in the UK.   We also welcome feedback about any aspect of our visa service as always.
